Announcing a new, innovative web site designed to prepare for the Sunday liturgy.
The site, http://liturgy.slu.edu, is for everyone from Priests to people in the pews, and comes from Saint Louis University’s Center for Liturgy.
It gives you easy access to the readings for Sunday, and then lets you enter into them in a way that fits you.
Here are the sections the site provides:
1. Praying Toward Sunday (featuring a short but deep prayer on each reading);
2. Spirituality for Sunday (giving you excellent spiritual insights in to the Sunday, its readings, its meaning);
3. Get to know the Readings (with insights by various authors into the meaning of the coming Sunday's scripture); and,
4. Music of Sunday's Mass (takes a look at diverse parishes through the country and world, listing what music they will be using; maybe some that you know already!).
Our Church of St. Nicholas wants to make such preparation a regular part of our parish life.
Please tune into the Sunday Web Site once a week for at least several weeks to see if it can become a regular part of your spiritual life. It may be the kind of renewal all members of this parish need. By the way, the materials here are excellent for discussion and prayer groups.
